What is a Hip Fracture?
A hip fracture is a serious injury that can be life-threatening and most commonly affect the elderly. It usually results from a fall but can also be due to osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Hip fractures are a break of the head or neck of the femur, but it can also refer to a break of the pelvis, which contains the hip socket.

“I want to thank you so much for the wonderful care you have given me during and after my hip surgery. You managed to calm my nerves several times and your bedside manner is very caring and kind. I must also thank your staff, Chris (fracture manager), Joan (nurse), and X-ray staff for their kindness and concern during and after my recovery. You and your staff are wonderful and I will gladly recommend you to family and friends!” — Sharon B.
“My son fractured his hip during track season. Dr. VanderWilde and his staff were wonderful to him. Made it a pleasant experience in the midst of frustration for him to be missing out on his track season. Both appointments we had were a great experience. Thanks for all the help.” — Heidi V.
