NWOS and Orthopaedic Surgery Center Remain Open
On Thursday, January 13, 2022, Governor Inslee announced another halt to elective surgeries across Washington state for four weeks due to rising COVID-19 cases and the impact on hospitals in Spokane and across the state.
A recent article published in The Spokesman-Review discussed the announcement - "An ongoing staffing crisis and increase in COVID-19 cases due to the omicron variant has pushed hospitals to near breaking points. Spokane health officials warned Wednesday that hospitals in the county are at 97% occupancy while intensive care units are full."
The governor's announcement applies to hospital surgical cases, but it does not apply to outpatient orthopedic surgical cases scheduled at the NWOS Ambulatory Surgery Center. The Surgery Center, as well as all NWOS Clinic locations, Express Walk-In Clinics, and Physical Therapy locations, remain open and ready to treat you.
Our team at Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is so thankful for all of the frontline healthcare workers that have continued to work tirelessly to treat COVID-19 patients, as well as all other patients that need their care.
