For nearly 20 years, surgeons from Northwest Orthopedic Specialists have traveled to developing countries to provide medical relief in humanitarian, disaster and conflict situations in addition to teaching in-country doctors. Each of these settings has a unique set of expectations, traditions, cultural requirements, medical obstacles, language barriers and politics.
